UNIPG is the best big Italian public university since 6 years, as declared by the CENSIS statistics. At the Engineering school UNIPG provides training/research activities in the fields of structural, environmental and energy engineering. CIRIAF is an interuniversity research centre founded in 1997 mainly populated by applied physics academics (evaluated as first research group for scientific titles in Italy, in this subject category). CIRIAF has an internal doctorate school in Energy and Sustainable Development. Objectives of the Centre are: to promote research on environmental sustainability, renewables and energy efficiency, pollution and its effects on the environment; to foster activities for the participation in international research programmes. It links more than 100 scientists from Italy and all around the world. The main activities focus on noise/electromagnetic pollution, sustainable development, LCA, renewables, optimization of industrial processes, energy planning, building energy efficiency, building occupancy behavior and social awareness triggering toward energy efficiency, indoor-outdoor microclimate, and urban heat island mitigation.
CIRIAF is a proper partner in this project since the working team links expertise in energy systems for building and industrial applications to more building-focused and human-centered techniques which are mainly oriented toward the development and characterization of new solutions for energy efficiency, e.g. TES-based solutions, simulation methods in dynamic conditions with multiscale realistic boundaries, microclimate assessment and mitigation, and building occupancy and societal involvement in environmental resilience versus climate change. Additionally, the same team has already been participating as partner to 6 founded H2020 projects (INPATH-TES, ZERO-PLUS, HERACLES, SAFER UP!, SWS-HEATING, GEOFIT) and other two Marie Curie Cofund projects, one Erasmus Plus network project, and one fast track to innovation.

prof. Anna Laura Pisello
Professor of environmental applied physics with 10 years of experience @UNIPG, building engineer, visiting research associate at Princeton University (NJ, USA). PhD in Energy Engineering.
Working on building energy efficiency, occupancy modeling and microclimate analysis. Editor of 7 journals and author of more than 130 peer reviewed journal papers. Winner of 8 international research awards. She has been supervising and cosupervising 10 Ph.D. students and 3 post-docs at UNIPG working in the field of energy efficiency in buildings, new envelope materials for TES, occupancy optimization, modeling and energy saving awareness. She has participated in a high number of projects in UNIPG (2009-present) and she has been visiting scholar at Columbia University, Virginia Tech, Baruch College. She is responsible for several national projects and bilateral agreement between Princeton University and UNIPG. She is the contact person and project scientific manager of 7 H2020 project at UNIPG, and a number of other EC initiatives (Marie Curie Cofund, Erasmus network, etc.). She got 2 Italian PRIN grants in the last 4 years about smart materials for environmental monitoring and multidimensional comfort analysis. She is coordinating several national projects and contracts with Italian and international companies about indoor wellbeing, productivity analysis in the indoors, new HVAC systems. She is the coordinator of Environmental Applied Physics Lab at UNIPG (eaplab.eu )

Author of key international publications in building energy efficiency, new materials for building envelope, urban resilience to climate change. She has been already actively cooperating in 6 H2020 projects and additional national projects at CIRIAF-UNIPG.
